It seems like the justification for fetch not doing this is that it can't be polyfilled which is just... baffling. We won't add this capability because it's not already possible today?

Is it seriously impossible to make an ajax request and have it *not* follow redirects, but instead give you back a response object telling you where the server wanted to redirect you to?

No, XmlHttpRequest has even worse behavior than `fetch` (which is part of the problem, can't even rely on `resp.redirected` ever being true since polyfilled versions can't know)
