Yeah it’s not safe. But I think they’re super fun and cheaper/faster than ride sharing for short distances, like around downtown Oakland. I don’t think they will go away. Instead, I’d like to see separated non-car lanes. Helps us cyclists also.

I bet they're safer than bikes. Slimmer profile helps avoid some collisions and no added height means less damage from many types of fall
