So my fellow Sekiro players...roll call and status? I am alternating between dying against Genichiro, dying against Lady Butterfly, or dying against that big dude in full plate armor. Beaten all mini-bosses to this point. No idea how far through the game I am.

Stuck on headless ape fight in depths. Restarted a day or two ago because I was unhappy w/ skill distribution and points were slowing down. Interestingly, headless ape is actually optional since you can go through the room before the boss spawns if you do depths early

Genichiro and lady butterfly are both fights that you basically have to execute perfectly or die. Once you get them down they're easy if you fight them again. Key for armored warrior is to remember to deflect, don't dodge. Sneak in an axe hit when you can for posture dmg

Tips for Genichiro: Learn his patterns, make sure you're deflecting when you can, follow up with a strike after. Blocking works best for arrows (except the slow powerful one) -- Especially when he does jump and rapid fire arrows, if you try to dodge you're dead.

Thanks! I do have "the fear" which is why I have multiple major bosses to deal with. I am digging the exploration but the sheer numbers of minibosses kinda makes it feel like I don't get much exploring done before I have to work on a boss again.

Yeah, once you get to the castle the world really opens up. There's actually another path you can explore if you go back to the well where the game starts. For the bosses you have now I'd recommend butterfly, then armored warrior, then continue senpou until main temple idol

There's an NPC in the main temple who's only there until you beat Genichiro. Nothing important/useful, but you get a fun little bit of extra story
