So my fellow Sekiro players...roll call and status? I am alternating between dying against Genichiro, dying against Lady Butterfly, or dying against that big dude in full plate armor. Beaten all mini-bosses to this point. No idea how far through the game I am.

Stuck on headless ape fight in depths. Restarted a day or two ago because I was unhappy w/ skill distribution and points were slowing down. Interestingly, headless ape is actually optional since you can go through the room before the boss spawns if you do depths early
Genichiro and lady butterfly are both fights that you basically have to execute perfectly or die. Once you get them down they're easy if you fight them again. Key for armored warrior is to remember to deflect, don't dodge. Sneak in an axe hit when you can for posture dmg

Yeah seems like most bosses have easier tells than in Dark Souls...like Jinsuke Saze (samurai in Ashina Castle) had the flash of his sword before a two-hit volley. Once I got the timing down, deflect+big attack sequence beat him quickly.

Yeah, he's definitely the skill check on deflecting. Incredibly easy if you're good at deflecting once you've seen his attacks, unbeatable if you're too slow or trying to dodge. You can actually skip him, down the stairs & immediate 180 -- breakable wall

Tips for Genichiro: Learn his patterns, make sure you're deflecting when you can, follow up with a strike after. Blocking works best for arrows (except the slow powerful one) -- Especially when he does jump and rapid fire arrows, if you try to dodge you're dead.

Tips for Butterfly: Learn her patterns. Deflect everything. If she stands there blocking strike once to bait an attack. Shuriken when she jumps, if you have upgraded always hold R2 otherwise pause a beat before throwing. If you're out of snap seeds focus on illusions when up
