Two hot takes that I believe apply to 90% of all software teams: 1. You'd be better off on a PaaS like Heroku or Next than whatever custom AWS/cloud you've built 2. Postgres can do whatever you'd want from a non-RDBMS application data store. And faster. With fewer compromises
I'd probably scale the second one back to "Postgres can do whatever you'd want from a non-RDBMS store and is good enough". Nobody expects delayed_job to beat sidekiq in performance

Sidekiq uses Redis not because it's better or faster. Dude didn't want to write adapters for N backends. (I don't blame him.) Don't miss the forest for the trees.
