At the same time, I also want to fight against prejudice against non-degree holders. This is all incredibly nuanced and hard to get across right, and usually why I don't tweet about it too much despite having opinions.
I just wish folks would stop interpreting "you don't need a degree" as "a degree is useless and nobody should ever get one"
Yeah this is the other interpretation that's really annoying to see
I tried getting a CS degree, and almost got one, but I gave up close to the end because there was a large disconnect between what I wanted to learn as a software engineer and what was taught at CS and how it was taught.
