I love how in Ruby doing class DoesStuffService def call(x, y) # ... end end is good design but if you do def do_stuff(x, y) end you're a monster

The original tweet through usage of def still patches Object, the method described leaves Object alone and hence makes having top level methods a lot safer
I did not realize that extending a module in main doesn't affect Object. That makes no sense o_O Thanks for sharing <3

Does it? I always thought that the top level def influencing Object made no sense. That the workaround then doesn't influence Object is weird though you're right. Happy to share
