yes C is extremely dangerous but the way people seem to use it doesn't help

in particular the total disregard for abstraction, massive functions doing 12 distinct things, extremely silly pointer/loop tricks...

I've never read so much code that's made unclear by simultaneously saying too little and too much at the same time

like, it seems deeply wrong to me that a buffer, its size, and various pointers into it are just a handful of the 20 local variables some huge function has

years of hearing "C is for the hardcore computer genuises who write the most incredible code you can only dream of" is gonna set you up for huge disappointment
