      :+1: to that. I wonder how many people end up using SQLite for dev? none? if 80% will be choosing MySQL or PostgreSQL that's what Rails should include as default db. One less adapter to support will be nice too

      It would be really useful to be able to reliably poll Rails users for this kind of stuff. Wish we could include some opt-in anonymized telemetry somehow. Like a bit beyond what New Relic does. What Rails frameworks and DB adapters are included in your setup?

      I always used MySQL. Never EVER needed SQLite in dev. Always the first thing I change when starting a new app

      I thought about that. Though isn't best to learn a db you probably will use in prod instead of using 2? The rake tasks that create db and all are pretty good and easy to use. You just need to start the process. Like you need for SQLite anyways

          I am now wondering if it would be easy to build a bulletproof rails girls docker thing for windows. Docker on windows is a one install axe now.

          There we go. And Postgres is a non-issue with docker. You could even compose a separate db container to simulate the kind of complexity students would encounter on PaaS. Still, SQLite is obfuscation. The friction needs to be addressed, not paved over with an artificial bridge.
