I'm still mad that Pixels don't have a headphone jack anymore, but it's harder to be mad when they include the dongle *and* some decent quality USB-C headphones with the phone

I'm considering getting one, I'm on a Pixel 1 (got it replaced on warranty but the replacement also has some issues that are growing). I usually keep a phone till it's almost dead but may replace soon for this one. What are your thoughts on it?

So far everything about it is great. Screen is way better than the 2XL (which I had, then broke, then went back to the 1). Only gripe is that you can't turn off gesture nav (system > gestures > swipe up on home button is gone), but hopefully they revert that in the next update

Wireless charging is a big deal for me. 99% of the time if my battery is low it's because I put my phone on my end table and forgot to plug it in (with my mobility issues when the cable falls on the floor it's really hard to pick up). Having a mat literally just fixes that prob

Cameras are way better, I like the form factor a lot. The matte glass back feels... weird. Not like glass at all. Almost like greasy metal which sounds bad but it's not. Was mostly just surprising at first.

Main gripe is really just the lack of a headphone jack (which again, is less bad since it includes https://store.google.com/product/usb_c_earbuds … in the box in addition to the dongle) and the forced gesture nav. I suspect enough people will yell about the latter that it gets patched

Take all of this with a grain of salt, since my ownership experience is "since I got off the plane from RBR like 6 hours ago"

Oh also I should mention that the data transfer tool is actually surprisingly well coded and resilient to the other phone shutting off 6 times with no warning in the middle of it (low battery is low)

Yeah I've had to do a transfer when my power jack became iffy and I got a replacement, it's pretty neat.

I'm just legitimately surprised that the phone could shut off or be unplugged randomly in the middle of it without corrupting one or both phones. We should be able to expect that but we both know that's not how most software is
