Ah, I see. Does this still apply if we're assuming this is an arbitrary expression and not the return value of a function?

Proc macros which have to interact with features maybe being enabled on other crates but still want to validate input even if it's unused lead to fun constraints

My favorite is the derive that emits impls based on another attribute, but can't error if none of that attribute is given because it's usually cfg_attr'd
