Interesting how price expectations have changed. In 2007, the original iPhone cost $400 and was considered crazy expensive for the time. Now $750 is Apple's "budget" option.

Right. Because Apple has a long history of charging massive premiums on all their devices - especially their “state of the art’ flagships. They’ve made huge strides in economic availability in 10 years.

No to mention the original could last 2 years tops while current models can easily run for 4-5 plus years. And there was no ecosystem. It couldn’t do much of anything.
