Interesting how price expectations have changed. In 2007, the original iPhone cost $400 and was considered crazy expensive for the time. Now $750 is Apple's "budget" option.

You’re still comparing Apples to Oranges. Apple purposefully raised the price of the X as a premium product. It’s like comparing a plastic MacBook to an rMBP. I’d be curious to compare unsubsidized prices for both devices. The original iPhone cost me far more than $400.

Yeah, I had forgotten off contract was not an option on the original. 3G is a better comparison, where it was $200 on contract and $400 off contract. I disagree with apples to oranges, since the XR is meant to be their "more accessible" option, and no rev on other hw
