yes I have most certainly NEVER done this
I know I need to be using https://doc.rust-lang.org/nightly/std/sync/struct.Barrier.html … instead, but for whatever reason the thought never occurs while I'm writing the test. Then I ask for code review and remember "oh right I should have been not shit"
