Agree. I've had very few cases in apps where the reduced allocations of the `!` methods mattered. However, I also see people intentionally use the ! methods for their different returns which makes the code hard for me to understand.
We should just all switch to Rust where all iterators are lazy and optimize to a hand written loop :trollface:

Good point about gems. I’ve definitely been more mindful about speed and memory allocation (not to mention minimizing dependencies) in library work than app work. Requires a different mindset for sure.
