Something I just realized I really liked about the #rustconf talk tracks:
No questions at the end
We're still a small enough (lol @ saying that about 500 people) audience and atmosphere that the talkers could field questions in the hallway track, and not do it on stage

yeah while Q&A is sometimes nice for meetups, I hate it at confs. Some speakers asked about Q&A and my response was "we don't ask you to, you don't have to, but you can if you want -- prefer asking them to walk up to you later" or some such

Yeah Q&A at a meetup is basically the same as having questions in the hallway after. Also way less likely to get "Here's the abstract of a similar talk I wanted to give but was rejected in barely question form"
