Firstly: Thank you! Secondly: How weird, diesel seems happy with that but querying information schema or using "show keys", doesn't show any keys at all on that table. What was my mistake / what should I have looked for?

When I say "primary key" I'm referring to the abstract concept of "how to uniquely identify a row", not a physical primary key. `information_schema` is typically a view under the hood which doesn't have a physical key for indexing, but still has the abstract concept

Yes -- in the rare case you *actually* have something that is not identifiable (unlikely), you can just say it's some arbitrary column. It's not implicitly used for anything, but we can't give implementations without some value.
