No see you don't understand. They're special because in the 70s some folks arbitrarily decided that 1-127 should mean the characters in the language they spoke.

Although, writing everything in a Latin alphabet does make code more accessible, both to people who use it predominantly in their daily life, and to those that don't, especially when both work together.
