in my view there is an underlying illusion, "purely technical" is by no means objective, I believe there is nothing objective outside mathematics, where you can prove things right or wrong, there are always personal POVs/trade-offs in a "purely technical discussion" => emotions

That isn't necessarily true. Maybe you have reasons to discuss a topic other than caring for it. For example, you may know a lot about X, don't care about X any more, but it's your job to talk about it.

In fact, I'd say this is one of the boundaries one must pass in order to be a senior engineer. Junior engineers always get hyped up by stuff. Seniors just don't care, as long as stuff works.
