Probably. I don't really care about what the doctrine does or doesn't say, personally. It doesn't prioritize what I do or don't work on.

The doctrine by
@dhh is the public face of the Rails priorities and goals. It is a purposeful omission, stuff is "fast enough" and progress is more important now. Having a "company charter" that key members ignore is not ideal. -
I'd add that "performance is irrelevant" made much more sense in 2004, when there was still wind from Moore's Law at our backs. That is no longer the case, and has not been for some time now.
