    Couldn't agree more. should be the backbone of structurally lasting disruption, not Google Earth Engine or Planet data. Feet of clay. There is a use for planet data but not in this way.

    The information content of global EO archive lies in the temporal, spatial and spectral domains. and (esp free Landsat) have unlocked the temporal domain. Hopefully provides API access to augment this analysis with Planet where appropriate

    Another advert for Planet in a top-notch journal.. My view is that the real disruption in Earth Observation is brought by : accurate measurements, and long-term continuity are the keys to make this link with policy makers. The future will tell us!

    A new study by Shepherd, et al., 2018 has revealed that Antarctica has lost around 3 TRILLION T of ice since 92. It is equivalent to *10 times all the glaciers of the European Alps*. Even worse, the rate of ice loss is increasing.
