I wish the anti-CRT crowd would just say “I want my kid to grow up completely ignorant of history and cultural dynamics, just like their mommy and daddy did” instead of pretending this is about some higher order values

It's the commitment to stay uninformed that gets me. Incurious white people become teachers, lawyers, doctors & CEOs & never have to learn about racism. Meanwhile, many Black kids learn about racism by age ~5 asking parents why a kid called them n!$$#@. https://twitter.com/Fly_Sistah/status/1287104545475239937?s=19 …pic.twitter.com/rqkDFRXi7f

Totally. Even worse because the commitment to staying uninformed is a commitment to keeping unearned advantages.

I serve on the SF school board. Last fall we voted to temporarily remove selective enrollment from SFUSD’s elite public high school. (We did not have test scores due to COVID.) I will never forget one middle schooler who called in and stated “You are taking away my privilege.”
