They don’t need that evidence to get the guy. They should have body cams on. That video isn’t going to show a crack pipe clearly. They wanted to either eff with him to teach him a lesson not to record cops or they wanted to grab his phone and hit delete.
So why the talk about getting the footage later through subpoena? Why take Chesa’s information?
Come on. You really think they would subpoena that footage? That sounds like a lot of work to me for a dude they supposedly caught with a crack pipe. In my experience cops don’t do a lot of work unless it’s worth it. I guess it would be nice to know the real backstory.
Asking for his ID was to intimidate him and make him think he was in trouble so he would get scared and comply when he didn’t have to.
