If the "tough-on-crime" folks really believed in preventing crime, they would be advocating for housing, education, treatment, and other social services. The fact that they never do, and actively fight against such programs, tells you everything you need to know about them.

Nah I disagree with that whole, "shouldn't allow" business. I fundamentally don't think Prohibiting things, the result of not allowing them is a productive response. I think we can and should incentivize drug sales to occur in safer settings.
So it sounds like you don’t consider where they’re being sold now an ideal setting. How do we move them to somewhere that’s safer for everyone?

@Twolfrecovery about the possibility of producing a "Tolerance Zone", it would give us an opportunity to install drug purity testing resources, allow access for rehabilitation /addiction management medical professionals, and provide a safe non violent venue. -
I think that the circumstances in which they are sold now are responsible for the danger, if medical supervision, safe and reliable purity, narcan, and addiction therapy as needed were available as needed deaths are vanishingly rare from our
