If the "tough-on-crime" folks really believed in preventing crime, they would be advocating for housing, education, treatment, and other social services. The fact that they never do, and actively fight against such programs, tells you everything you need to know about them.

Nah I disagree with that whole, "shouldn't allow" business. I fundamentally don't think Prohibiting things, the result of not allowing them is a productive response. I think we can and should incentivize drug sales to occur in safer settings.
