They didn't burn anyone in Salem (they hung them). At least 1 politician/public figure was executed in the Salem witch trials— John Willard.

true, though he was not technically executed as a witch (stones were to prompt him to speak against his wife, who was accused).

Stones were to force him to plead. If you didn't plead, then there was no trial. If not trial, no confiscation of property. Family inherits.
