Entire grades at Kid0's school are out sick (as is she). Lots of C19(-) test results. Lots of neighbors and their classes all "out with flu". Sure would be nice to have a public health system rn. Sure would be nice to have pandemic management not borne on the backs of kids.

I almost forgot! Today’s “Confederate Memorial Day” here in the Carolinas. Don’t forget to wish somebody who celebrates a “Congrats on the successful march to the sea.” It’s much more specific than the tired old “happy participation trophy holidays”.

Tell me you don't care about the vaccine-ineligible, at-risk, or mask-incapable, without telling me... Sincerely, Parent of a 1yo Keep masking; it's literally the least you can do. Vaccinate if you're able. Save our at-risk folks of any age & youngest children from (Long) COVID

When Fort Sumter was attacked, my great-great-grandfather, Jonathan Dillon, was repairing Lincoln's watch. He passed down a story, which he told to on April 30, 1906, that he left an inscription inside it. My grandfather told the tale around the dinner table. 1/4

I'm pretty sure the ability to get stamps like this quickly and readily should be the pillar of your campaign to sit on the Board of Governors,

There's a tremendous amount of privilege necessary to manage upwards and to confidently deflect the expansion of your work day. I've worked in incident response of some kind or other for most of my 20+ years career. I grok emergency work. Filling out TPS reports is not for 9pm.

This is also something else I manage outward as a v senior individual. If I hear a teammate saying eg "Ugh, worked so much last night, and going to again tonight", that's exactly where I follow-up with some form of "How did that happen? Do you have what u need to manage upward?"

^ as a trend. I don't personally have to deal with a "9pm shift" and that's precisely the kinds of things I "manage upward". If my boss needs me to do work that's urgent (but not emergent) and it's only possible after-hours, we need to agree to deprioritize on-hours work instead

I’ve seen almost 400 kung-fu and wuxia movies over the past three years, so when I say I’ve never seen a fight like this before, it’s not hyperbole (Drunken Dragon/Exciting Dragon - dir. Chiu Chung-Hing, 1985)
