*The one thing I haven’t done: expressing anger about rejection, especially in abusive or threatening ways. Do it once, you’ll go on my list of people to never commission. Threatening content that feels credible goes straight to Legal.

Pitching is hard! Rejection sucks! In addition to being a full-time editor I still freelance and I still get rejected! There are a few editors I’d love to work with where nothing has quite landed and it’s been frustrating for both of us! And yet, we keep trying.
