Still in time to ? Hi, I'm Sergio, and I make indie VR horror games. Before that, I worked as a gameplay programmer in a couple of studios in Spain you probably haven't heard of.

I'm REALLY glad I catched this horrifying bug before testing the changes in VR and getting traumatized for life 😱

The whole AssetStore concept works great for... well... assets! Or tools made by solid companies. But most tools in there end up deprecated and forgotten, so my tip would be to be careful, and do your research before adding a dependence into your project

... so now you either have to stop using that tool, or fix their code yourself (not easy, and not always possible if they used a dll)... or, you end up coding your own tool (so you didn't save any time using the AssetStore after all)

Most frustrating thing about Unity: it's very easy to end up depending on third party tools from the AssetStore, but then you try updating to next Unity version and they explode. A little research shows the company who made the tool disappeared 1 year ago...

I just wish I could turn during jumps. My next game in progress uses a similar locomotion system (point where you want to go, then smoothly move there rather than teleport), but allows turning while in motion, and I've gotten so used to it that now I miss it here! :)

Playing Red Matter by on the Oculus Rift and I'm really loving it! The architecture of the levels and overall ambience is just great, and works very well in VR. Hoping it sells lots of copies!
