I think they mean as far as viewers go, not creators.

Yeah, hesitant to start watching.

This question came into my mind when Cobra Kai landed there.

It certainly makes me think twice about investing any viewing time into new shows.

I think she meant, do I even bother to start watching a Netflix original series if I'm a viewer, knowing it could get GLOW'ed / Santa Clarita Diet'ed
-
Note: I watched EVERYTHING SUCKS! and it was quite good and then they unceremoniously dumped it even though it ended on a very serious revelation/introduction. Netflix does not allow many of its shows to have truly tidy endings. It is a signal to me to limit MY time investment

Isn't this sort of the same problem as any network though? Like, I got invested in "God Friended Me" thinking there'd be more . . . and then there was not. I enjoyed "Stumptown," and now it's one-and-done. We all remember "Terriers."
-
Is it possible that this is more of a creator issue, with showrunners using cliffhangers to try and force networks to renew their contracts?

Also the odds of lasting more than 3 seasons is slight under the best of circumstances. Not worth it to make plans based on season 4.
