So, may we conclude that attractiveness is correlated with evil personality traits?

It’s quite a small sample size so I don’t think we can conclude much - narcissism is consistently associated with greater physical attractiveness in many studies. I saw one study that showed women high in psychopathy were more physically attractive but again n<50

Really interesting, though I appreciate the sample size is relatively small. How would this occur? Is the suggestion that physical appearance shapes ones personality, or the other way round (which would seem stranger, though not inconceivable!).

Theoretically a- genes that predispose certain personality factors also code for certain facial characteristics and/or b-the way you are treated based on your facial features influences personality (e.g. someone neotenous is more agreeable because everyone is nice to them)

Yes, there's definitely crossover between personality traits and appearance - I guess at the extreme end of this phenomenon we have psychiatric disorders associated with certain behavioural phenotypes and certain morphological characteristics.

I've always found it difficult to understand the impact of appearance on personality because it could potentially affect different people in different ways. A more neotenous individual might be more pleasant because they are used to people agreeing with them......

But equally they may be less pleasant because they conceivably have to make less effort in order for people to agree with them (or, if they were to alienate someone, they could find a substitute friend/mate more readily)

The dark triad women have notably juttier chins and slimmer faces.

Yes, I was just thinking the same thing... or was I imagining it? The Dark Triad men have slightly more rounded faces, like the non-DT women.

The composites look like the mirror opposite of each other - the high/low male look like the "optical isomer" (so to speak, I don't know if metaphor is the most accurate on) of the high/low female ones.
