Even today, the Speaker and her allies keep contradicting themselves. They say their case is already “overwhelming,” “beyond any reasonable doubt.” But they also keep asking the Senate to re-do their homework and add to the investigation that House Democrats rushed to close.
These two things cannot both be true. Is House Democrats’ case so “overwhelming” that it was enough to impeach a president? Or is their case so weak and incomplete that they need the Senate to redo it? They can’t even stick to one story.
Don’t give an inch. Get this done as soon as you can. You all have real work to do. We can’t give them a do-over on 2016. Now they are positioning like 2020 isn’t on the up and up. Screw then. We need to crush them at the ballot box like they’ve never been crushed.
Senator- what do you make of this apparent plot by supporters of the President to violently intervene against a sitting US Ambassador in the Ukraine? Or the documents released that further corroborate the evidence presented by the House? Or are you just pretending it isn't real?
