A counter point here -> doesn't that introduce a bias and reduce diversity Obviously filtered intro good but does self select and introduce a bubble I'm not in your chair though... so maybe looking at it wrong

yes & no. i don't think it introduces a bias, but it can limit aperture. the psychology here is critical - investors in early stage tend to want to build a relationship w/ founding team & that is accelerated thru a loose connection or recommendation

I don't ding companies for cold inbound. Most of the time they could have gone through a mutual connection but, as first time founders or coming from outside SF, aren't well-versed in SF cultural / email norms

I don't ding them either but 1/ deal volume is insane and 2/ it's more about % likelihood of a quick response. i'm not saying this is fair/right, but it is the prevailing reality
