Keep this in mind when you write articles, build modules, design frameworks. The majority of your users are brand-new to this thing.

Think about the implications when you design for security, validation, robustness, scalability. Most of your users will not have strategies.

Showing a code example that uses ES6 syntax? Explain WTF ES6 is. Your users just turned up from browser land and have never heard of it.

@seiyria @Fishrock123 A link is fine! I see tons of tutorials just using ES6 without explaining that it won't actually run as-is.

@seldo it would be particularly interesting to find out what communication channels those developers are using, and what education resources

@thealphanerd As far as we can tell, they are swimming around in a sea of disjointed tutorials and getting very frustrated.

@seldo I started using node a year ago, but have nine years of professional JS experience. Does that qualify as a newbie?

@seldo @izs remarkable. I suppose that means by this time next year 50% of node users will have started on node v4 and npm v3.

@seldo in my dark hours, i think this describes our entire industry, in perpetuity. eternal september with permanent amnesia.

@seldo @joemccann it did feel weird back in 2013 when we had the opportunity to meet the people who built Node all together in the same room

@seldo @joemccann now my feelings are mixed. Large enterprises buying into the platform make it feel less free than it was before.
