Does anyone else ever come across what I call “anti-role models” in academia?
Typically, they are senior academics who behave in such a poor way that makes you realise that you absolutely do not want to end up being like them 
And of course I have many positive and excellent academic role models. To these wonderful people —> keep doing what you’re doing and showing us early-career folk that it’s possible to be an excellent scientist and a thoroughly nice person at the same time 
Blimey, this Tweet escalated. Some devastating stories below . We may all be entrenched in our views of others, yet I think we *all* need to constantly self-reflect on our own behaviours to ensure we don’t end up being thought of in similar ways to our anti-role models

Very true. Although if they are senior than us, then they should in theory be a stronger and more responsible role model.

Yes and their impact is profound 
... not only noted for future (un) reference but I like to imagine it as ‘material’ for my future (award winning of course) Campus ‘Dramedy’. 
Often, it’s the latter imaginings that see me through the darker behaviours !
Now I’m senior I need to look both ways

Yeah, although just to clarify, strictly speaking, when I say "senior", I mean it in a relative sense - i.e. more senior in a career-sense than me :)
