(Some of my favorite sales started with junior engineers, cause that's a pretty huge impact to have early in your career. I'd love to get people all the promotions)

Newbie B2B mistake: Thinking you need to know/reach managers & execs to make sales. Vast majority of our sales started with engineers (of all levels, even junior). You have to empower folks to present your product to their team/manager, good thing to always do when networking.

I've found that framing anything as good or bad / positive or negative doesn't really work. I think (ie, my therapist told me) it's better to frame things are helpful or not helpful. Sometimes anger is helpful! Others it is not.

explaining 'the cloud' to beginners: when a file is saved to your computer, it's like having money under a mattress. you can only access it at home & if your home burns down you lose it. whereas the cloud is like a bank: you can access files anywhere, but the institution is evil

Idle reminder that Amazon has only 6-7% of US retail today. And Google has only about 10% of global advertising and marketing spending

If you're ever in an interview and they ask for an arbitrary piece of information and won't accept the response "I'd google that" you are perfectly justified in walking right out

I had 2 other careers before this one. We can't expect people to figure out what they want to do while they're still figuring out who they are. Don't be afraid to try something new, and never let yourself think that it's too late for you.

I hope folks I know in Toronto can offer to help with this. With so many young women starting their careers in a city of many tech meetups, having a reliable insider to turn to is VERY valuable.

I think I discovered the lowest amount of sugar you can put in a banana bread with it still tasting good. 👀 It’s this recipe. 1/3 cup of honey for the whole loaf, no other sweetener (other than bananas). Recipe:

This is such an excellent breakdown of how to succeed at crowdfunding, and an insightful look at what’s involved in marketing one. Spoiler alert: it’s WAY more than just making a page on Kickstarter.

I like Monday too. It's much better feeling to finish a week strong and get a long weekend. Than end early and star on time.

I take 3 day weekends pretty much every week. I find 2 days is not enough to detach from work and not feel like it’s the main focus of my life.
