Massive CSA haul this week! The last few days I’ve been kind of down and subsisting off pizza, so this is a good push to wake up and feed my body

So gratifying to produce things manually in this high-tech world, It's a challenge but I get inspiration from these plans

Although not woodworking related, the ideas behind the quote (and the article) fit well with 's graphic novel Unflattening and how visual thinking can expand teaching and learning:

Cool course! I've also started woodworking a few years back. My favourite book has been: it's really practical, and in a ways it's like design patterns for furniture. Except that these are still used, all the time.

it’s unfortunate that so often when you’re debating with someone, they’re not debating your argument at all—they’re debating the arguments people have raised against them on this same topic in the past, which they’re projecting onto you

I'm booked in for a welding course in a couple of weeks. I own a steel boat back in the UK, so it's not entirely frivolous, but I'm mainly doing it for the challenge.

Day 2 of 3! We got to cut out all the components for our boxes 😊 The class has people from all backgrounds. My group has a man who’s a software dev who wants to do this as a hobby and a businesswoman who wants to fix up a cabin and build furniture for it.

I just realized the number of lawyers working for our company now outnumbers the number of software and sales people. Ah, IP law

Wistia took the road less traveled and, rather than sell the business (largely to give investors a happy outcome), took on $17M in debt (!) and bought their investors out. I think we’ll see more creative financing options like this over time.

Hey, I'm interested in bringing on more content contributors to - a video-based tech education startup w/ royalty-based payments. I'm very interested in talking to underrepresented groups about their AWS/Azure experience. My DM's are open if you could RT

Sure, potentially! We're mostly looking for Unity devs, a QA person and some writers at the moment, but we don't know what else we might need! Always happy to see a speculative CV though.

I’m looking for a job as a software developer in Denver, LA, or remote. I’m a recent Front-end engineering grad. My Acting degree and background in improv make me exceptional at connecting with others and building a strong sense of community amongst a team -- lets create!

Day 1 of 3 complete! My favorite part was getting to hold & feel types of wood as we learned about them. As I was working, I would panic if I thought I was messing up like I would back in toxic workplaces. It was therapeutic to have everyone be chill and say hey it’s just wood.

A key realization in business and life is that a major reason why people are pervasively not honest about what they want is that people pervasively do not know what they want. That's a major reason why sales is effective (and socially useful).
