Told my husband I was afraid I was going to have an affair. Confessing that somehow made space for all this other stuff to come up I hadn't even known I was holding down. Within two days I realized I'd been abused as a child. Within a week I was hospitalized on the psych ward.
Maybe I still would have been hospitalized. But the power of that confession was incredibly freeing. I found out I didn't have to be perfect, and I could be loved and held anyway. It has utterly and totally changed my life.
Quitting my job to move to a different city for a guy (who dumped me 12 hours before I was supposed to move).

I almost didn't sign up for a local craft show because it required me to head to the local city business council and pay for a $50 permit. Changed my mind & was helped by a really nice guy. My marriage ended and later that guy asked me out, he's the best man I've ever dated.
This needs to be a movie!
Choosing to accept an ROTC scholarship to a military school instead of studying music performance at an out of state school we couldn't afford anyway. Funny I'm not sure it was an actual choice, given the utter lack of resources for me to attend college.
