Prop 47 changed the amount of theft that can prosecuted in 2014. Dunno what that has to do with Chesa, but okay.

Fair. I don’t know his stance on that explicitly, but he has made phrases along the lines of “bring me kilos not grams” or similar. That seems to be an endorsement for allowing small, frequent crimes.

I’m pretty sure it’s a reference to petty crimes. I could see how someone like you would take that as a literal reference.

I was taking it as a reference to petty crimes, which I’m saying is the problem. Constant petty crimes breeds more petty crimes and is a problem for stores like Walgreens.

That’s not how it works. Income inequality is the crime. You want to save Walgreens, fix that. Until that happens, the Fed minimum wage has increased $7 since 1925. Wonder how much my rent would have been in 1925? But, it’s clear you want to demonize the poor- not find solutions.

Are you saying that in lieu of a raise in minimum wage, we should allow all theft? Doesn’t seem reasonable to me. I’d rather we help raise qol for poor without allowing crime/violence.

This isn’t a raise. This is desperate people doing desperate shit. Conversely, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk are doing this with the American Taxpayer’s money to the run of a lot more, then shaking down Congress to buy them rockets. Punch up not down.

So, in favor of all crime because the world has inequity issues? People should be allowed to assault me on the street because I might make more money than them?

Let’s talk about “crime” sir… we decide what we call crime and what we find acceptable crime and crime that is punishable. all we are asking is to change the policies that haven’t worked ever so you can stop complaining about the poor. Again, research…books. They exist.
