So there is racism in all British Universities without question - what I cannot understand why particularly do people at *London* Universities feel they can be so open about it ? (eg Goldsmiths is a cesspit as well).

Very true. Two key differences: 1) though fast eroding, there’s been some mainstream agreement of a US racist past (hence the laws). The mainstream agreement in the UK is that the US has the race problem. 2) Having legal/policy recourse is useful, though not enough in itself.
