Facebook's negligence at its best. I reported this issue to them in 2017. FWIW I stopped reporting bug to Facebook around 2017 as well for the same reason

So it was clearly a business decision / accepted risk - which is their choice, but then they shouldn’t be publishing deceptive PR once an actual breach occurs. They need to own up to it: they chose growth over privacy
