    Seems an appropriate time to remind you that colonialism and white supremacy are what conditions people to think that something being exposed as racist is as bad as the actual racism. They weaponize the shame felt by populations who benefit from the oppression of others.

    Do you know the legacy of Canada’s sleeping car porters? They were railway employees in the late 19th and early 20th century — the vast majority Black men — who worked long hours for little pay, attending to the needs of sleeping car passengers. ( thread)
