I joined First Republic for checking acct because they don’t require SSN and stayed because they have an ATM fee rebate when using other ATMs. I use Bank of the West for credit card because they have a high limit, no credit history required card for people on working visas.

Actually just re-read your tweet and saw it was about a joint account with no SSN, not sure about that.

We moved to the Bay Area last year, we opened a joint account at

Yeah we had similar issues. Stuck with BoA whose website hasn’t improved at all for 7+ years. I miss direct debit in particular. Would recommend trying @PinchRent for rent, a credit union for a car, and I use Amex credit card for buying things.
