I've used menthol drops in a bowl of hot steamy water; inhale for a few minutes to clear your sinuses (I think that was it?). I did lose my sense of taste for a week but I felt a lot better.

The flu that’s going around is no joke. If you’re not feeling better in 2-3 days, and still have a fever, ask your doctor for Tamiflu. My daughter started feeling better within 24 hours.
