Try a Google product, their ML, AI, whatever experience is bigger than Amazok
Almost a week with Amazon Echo and I can’t help but feel like it’s just speech recognition with a bunch of regexes. Doesn’t feel “smart”. Works really poorly unless you’re 100% locked into Amazon and all its services. Anybody else have similar experiences?

I avoid Google products at all cost. Hoping the HomePod is good though.

Yep that pretty much sums it up. Great for setting timers and playing Spotify. Aaaand that’s about it.

I got Philips hue lights so have been using it for that too. The Spotify integration isn’t even that good, I’ve found it getting confused a lot, have to specify “from Spotify” when using speech recog.

Just got the chance to check this out and it looks amazing and exactly what I was looking for to play around. How does the custom ASR work? Is it all proprietary or using existing libs?
