Ever since moving to the US, the volume of email spam I've received has increased dramatically.

It's even targeting the specific bank I signed up for. Are financial records that easy to get in the US that even spammers/scammers have access? Or just a coincidence?

A couple of years ago I did an AMEX application over the phone where they misspelt my name, I've been getting about 2 spam letters a month addressed to that name. The amount of info selling here is ridiculous.

Back in the day, I was wondering where is this all coming from. Recently, I started reading all the agreements thoroughly. Every single one that I signed up past 2 years had a clause (that I opted-out) asking for permissions to share my private data now and in the future.
