The only reason I changed back to vanilla JS was that it made 15 year old me feel like a pro programmer because of the extra punctuation.

Early on with 6to5 I considered having my own JS flavor. In fact early 6to5 had some additional syntax that I called "playground".

It consisted of a bunch of random things of my own creation. Was eventually removed due to focus on ES2015 and spec compliancy.

Pre-Babel it was pretty legit, people love to hate on it but surprise, a bunch of its ideas ended up in JS Proper
