What would you do if you had async babel plugins? I'm thinking I'd inline fetch() calls with real data at compile time. What else?
This seems... bad. If the data you're fetching is constant then why would you use fetch in the first place?

The 'fetch' part isn't necessary, could be named anything else. Stuff like gatsby already does something similar via graphql.
