Adding anon analytics to Babel to know what (proposed) syntax the community is using: would be a better idea than the survey's done before

How is that useful? CI and development builds would ruin any sort of useful metrics.
Also imagine a build with 10,000 files. Are you going to kick off 10,000 requests? What happens if I'm in an environment with no network?

There's no useful metrics to be gained. Also see the drama and pushback when Homebrew and Bower added analytics.

I guess I was going to base it off of configs, or maybe run a plugin that makes a report of which syntax is used and send that once

doing it that way, might be less of an "analytics" thing and seems more of a like a stats report/settings/debug mode

Ok good point. We could add infos in the build, assuming it will appear in the final bundle and use BigQuery to get the stats.
