1. Clone a tools repo
2. Add it to your $PATH (wtf?)
3. Clone Chrome repo
4. Setup the build
5. Compile

The funny thing is that this is not true. At least not in the way you think it is.
Curious to learn more. I'm drawing from personal experiences doing open source at FB. Lots of tooling to make open source and internal work.

You see this a lot in Google oss projects, but Chrome doesn't use Google's stuff. They just NIHed themselves informed by G's internal infra.
