I have a React UI library but want to make it framework-agnostic. Is there a good way to make custom elements render to React components?

Note that I don't care about requiring React be loaded for consumption via another framework. Code size is not a concern for my use-case.

Can you tell me a bit more about what you're trying to accomplish? Maybe an example gist?

pretty much the same as this: https://twitter.com/_developit/status/902212686225825792 … i want to create wrapper custom elements for react components

        Ah I misread. Here's a solution for Preact, would be a 0-modification port to React: https://github.com/bspaulding/preact-custom-element …

it's very hard if you don't assume anything about the CE source format. a CE can just be arbitrary JS + DOM manip.

Would (p)react be able to be performant with that many roots? Not sure how heavy instantiation is.

Having React as a dependency for UI components seems likely to cause unexpected bundle size issues to me, just a misc thought.

Maybe take inspiration from wrapper libraries? React-konva translates the whole Konva lib to React without reimplementing hundreds of elems
